Bitcoin

CoinDesk highlights today that the U.S. created 29,000 jobs in September and that bitcoin settled just below $87,000 after the data. In addition, open interest in bitcoin derivatives increased by $2.3 billion in the last few hours.

Analysis. The dominant catalyst today is macro plus positioning. Weaker employment reinforces expectations of monetary easing, and that supports bitcoin. But if the advance depends too much on leverage, the rebound could become fragile. Watch funding, liquidations, and whether BTC retains control of dominance.

Ethereum

Ethereum is trading today near $2,389.43 on Investing.com and $2,410.42 on CoinDesk. Its behavior remains weaker than bitcoin in the daily snapshot, with a decline of around 1.30% in Investing.com’s overall table.

Analysis. Ethereum needs risk appetite to broaden beyond BTC in order to accelerate. If the market interprets the macro data as positive for duration assets, ETH could regain ground. The limit remains clear: without strong flows of its own, it continues to act as a follower of bitcoin’s move.

Solana

Solana is down 1.51% today on Investing.com, with a price of $102.753, and CoinDesk places it down 5.26% over 24 hours. It is one of the majors suffering the most within the main block.

Analysis. When the market rotates into risk, Solana tends to amplify the move; today the opposite is happening versus BTC. That points to less tactical conviction in altcoins. If bitcoin consolidates and volatility falls, SOL could rebound strongly, but right now it remains penalized by high beta.

XRP

XRP is trading today in the $1.2899-$1.2922 range on Investing.com, with daily pullbacks of between 1.17% and 1.41% according to the table consulted. Its relative weakness persists versus bitcoin.

Analysis. XRP needs specific news to break the inertia. Without its own catalyst, it remains trapped in the market’s overall flow and in institutional preference for BTC. What matters today is the loss of relative momentum: if BTC dominates, XRP usually attracts less new money.

SEC regulation

CoinDesk reports today that the SEC is proposing new cryptocurrency custody rules for investment advisers and funds. This is a cross-cutting regulatory development with potential impact on ETFs, managers, and custodians.

Analysis. The initial reading can be mixed: more requirements raise costs and may slow some participants, but they also raise the institutional standard. For price action, the immediate effect is usually caution; in the medium term, clearer custody could favor the arrival of serious capital. You can follow the pulse in CoinDesk Markets and compare prices at $81,209.6 for bitcoin.
